MaST Schools is in search of a Facilities Specialist. This position involves performing the job description at all MaST Campuses:

MaST III - Crown Campus: 1 Crown Way, Philadelphia, PA 19154
The position is a full-time position, but part-time employment work will be considered if that is all that the successful candidate is able to perform.
Reports to: Head of Facilities
Qualifications:
- Must have experience in project management.
- Must have prior work experience with HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Painting, and Carpentry.
- Must exhibit leadership skills and the ability to work with others.
- Must be able to evaluate problems, prioritize work and determine solutions.
- Must be able to read, write and understand work-related directions and instructions with sufficient skills to perform effectively.
- Must be physically able to work from ladders and/or lifts to fully perform job tasks related to maintenance work on a regular basis.
- Must be able to work unsupervised, be a self-starter, well-organized, and be able to multitask.
- Must have a satisfactory knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in general maintenance work.
- Must have had satisfactory work experience as a maintenance person.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania motor vehicle license.
- Must possess and maintain valid Pennsylvania school clearances.
Job Overview: The MaST Schools Facilities Specialist will perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner in order to maintain the facilities, renovations, and equipment upgrades to a high standard. Additionally, the Facilities Specialist will train others as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Install new electrical outlets, equipment, furniture, and fixtures for all MaST Schools projects as needed.
- Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and painting work with renovations as needed.
- Assists in the installation of all technology-related hardware such as TVs, Cat7 wiring, access points, and storage hardware. Runs electrical and data cables/lines for projects as needed.
- Addresses day-to-day maintenance needs that arise both from personal inspection and what’s reported by school staff and tenant (where applicable).
- Learns and trains other school-based personnel as needed on all aspects of building systems including (but not limited to) HVAC, HVAC computer, plumbing and irrigation, mechanical, electrical, sprinklers, fire alarms, etc.
- Assists in maintaining inspection schedule of all building systems to ensure everything meets code requirements as needed.
- Performs plumbing repairs to faucets, drains, flushers, and plumbing fixtures as needed.
- Performs minor electrical repairs as needed.
- Changes the filters on the HVAC system as needed and completes any necessary HVAC maintenance within the employee’s capability as needed.
- Maintains an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Implements and coordinates preventive maintenance tasks independently and with contractors as needed
- Updates supervisor(s) regularly regarding log of work and any significant issues that go beyond the employee’s capabilities.
- Assists with school events as needed.
- Performs other facilities/maintenance tasks associated with the school or its equipment as assigned by supervisor.
Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) months. Contract terms and salary to be determined by the Board of Trustees.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of state law, administrative code, and the Board’s policy on evaluation of the Building Engineer.
