Job Summary
The Employee Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, development, and facilitation of specialized training programs for MasTec employees. This position supports employee learning and development across multiple programs and within multiple internal customer groups. This role engages employees through structured facilitation, ongoing coaching, and contributing to the design and development of highly interactive, learner focused development programs.
Responsibilities
- Utilize various media and learning methods to develop and revise training programs and resources.
- Coordinating details and logistics such as communications, surveys, evaluations, room reservations, catering arrangements, and other training requirements.
- Manage, conduct or facilitate both virtual and instructor led training and education programs as needed.
- Evaluate training programs using surveys and assessments to provide recommendations for improvement and to ensure efficacy.
- Engage in coaching activities to assist the development of employees and leaders within career paths.
- Designs course content that is intended to engage employees and promote knowledge and skill acquisition and retention.
- Generate and publish training completion reporting for compliance purposes and management awareness.
- Travels to internal customer sites as required to fulfill the duties of the position.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
Minmum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Instructional Design, Training, Communications, similar field of study, or relevant experience.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (i.e.: SharePoint. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams) and knowledge of visual design tools (e.g., Adobe Pro, Photoshop, Canva).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel (25% travel is anticipated).
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years experience developing and facilitating employee training programs and resources.
- Previous experience in a construction/utility work environment.
- Previous experience with Learning Management Systems.
- Experience with graphic design, marketing, and communications.
