Position Summary :
Prepares and serves beverages and food to customers in bars and restaurants following the Brands core Steps of Service. Recommends wines and beers to customers upon request. Creates food pairings with wines and beers to enhance menu offerings. Works in assigned restaurant location as determined by management.
Responsibilities :
Ensures that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining company standards, solid product knowledge, and all other aspects of customer service
Greets guests warmly with a smile, making eye contact; checks for table setting completeness
Mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks according to Brand specifications; pours beer and wine
Offers food menus to guests; offers all coffee services and prepared drinks
Maintains thorough knowledge of wine and local and general beer inventory; makes suggestions to guests upon request
Answers all guest questions or finds appropriate answers for guests
Communicates all daily food and drink specials to guests; Takes accurate food and beverage orders
Demonstrates knowledge of all menu offerings, food, and drink pairings, and gives detailed descriptions of each item
Ability to accurately enter all orders into the point-of-sale system; updates the bar tab with all orders
Ensures guest satisfaction
Offers up-selling opportunities to all guests
Verifies ages of guests ordering alcoholic beverages; responsibly serve alcohol
Monitors and reports intoxicated guests to MOD
Aids in moving and installing kegs, CO2 tanks, and soda mixes
Washes glassware, containers, and other bar utensils as required
Demonstrates appropriate wine service techniques when presenting tableside wine service
Anticipates your guests' needs, including refilling drinks and replenishing flatware
Assists other servers and bartenders as needed; is aware of and alerts other crewmembers of customers' needs
Determines when guests have completed their meals and remove dirty dishes, flatware, and napkins
Prepares and presents itemized bills to guests; receives and processes payment by cash, credit card, or airline voucher
Adheres to MCA cash handling policies and procedures
Serves food to customers seated in the restaurant and bar as needed
Maintains a spotless working environment, including tabletops, bases, chairs, banquettes, TVs, glass partitions, server stations, beverage stations, table set-ups, glassware, flatware, etc.
Cleans the entire front and back of the bar, including bottles, walk-ins, low boys, and reach-ins
Orders and maintains the stock of liquor, wine, and beer by completing a pull sheet at the end of the shift, and turning in the appropriate location
Fully stocks the bar at beginning of each shift, including ice, fruit, beverages, juices, and mixers
Participates in daily side-work tasks, including but not limited to stocking glasses, linens, flatware, and condiments
Clean and preset tables for the next customers
Maintains knowledge of airport, terminal, and restaurants; offers information, recommendations, MCA and Brand history, etc.
Maintains a clean, neat, well-groomed appearance and adheres to all uniform and appearance guidelines
Sweeps and mops as needed
Performs other duties and side-work as assigned
Qualifications
Demonstrated pleasant attitude and energy to ensure great customer service
Professional demeanor, appearance, and communication skills in accordance with restaurant guidelines
Must maintain an extensive knowledge of the wine inventory and menu offerings
Must maintain an extensive knowledge of the local and general beer offerings
Must have pairing knowledge of beers and wines
Must have a working knowledge of the restaurant floor plan
Demonstrated ability to learn food and beverage knowledge and participate in training as required
Ability to successfully pass all service, menu, and alcoholic drink testing for the assigned concepts at standards assigned by management within 2 weeks of completion of training
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to accurately count money and make change
Ability to communicate clearly with customers and crewmembers regarding food and beverage orders and customer questions and concerns
Ability to read menu offerings, product labels, register screen, pricing, receipts, safety procedures, and operating directions
Ability to maintain a safe and clean restaurant for customers
Ability to walk and stand for long durations
Ability to do moderate to heavy lifting (25 lbs. or less)
