The hiring range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00 dependent on experience.
Welder, Aluminum and Steel
We are in search of an experienced welder to assemble, fabricate, and weld metal materials into trailer components, such as rear frames, H-members, and axle assemblies. The ideal candidate will be competent in using all needed equipment and have knowledge of different kinds of metals and their properties.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
- MIG and TIG weld steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel components based on specifications.
- Accurately lay out parts, assemble, and make appropriate welds based on specifications.
- Ensure work is done safety and meets quality standards.
- Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
- Follow all company rules and polices.
- Provide a great level of attention to detail.
- Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Lift raw materials, final products, and items manually (up to 51 pounds).
Qualifications
Requirements:
- At least one year experience with MIG and TIG welding highly preferred.
- Experience with steel and aluminum required.
- Experience with hand tools in a manufacturing environment required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening is required.
- Random drug testing required after employment.
- Passing of weld test required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs.
Knowledge and Skills for this Position:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and costs to maximize effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shields, gloves, etc.).
- Deftness and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents and fractions to decimal equivalents.
- Ability to produce quality products consistently.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be reliable, with a strong work ethic and desire to contribute to a team.
- Willing to work 40 hours weekly.
