Description
The Human Resources and Safety Coordinator is responsible for performing HR-related duties including, but not limited to:
- Payroll & Benefits Administration:
- Assist in payroll processing and resolution of related issues.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, retirement plans and flexible saving accounts.
- Communicate benefits information to employees, ensuring accurate enrollment.
- Employee Relations and Performance Management:
- Act as a resource for employees, providing guidance on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Recommend improvements to enhance team effectiveness.
- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Lead recruitment efforts for both exempt and nonexempt positions, from job postings, interviewing, and candidate selection.
- Facilitate the new-hire onboarding process.
- Act as a liaison between company and temporary agencies including timekeeping, onboarding, and invoicing.
- Policy Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HRIS records, including employee data and personal information.
- Maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to regulations.
- Leave Management and FMLA Administration:
- Assist with coordination and management of FMLA policies, leave requests, and return-to-work processes. Ensure timely and accurate tracking of employee leaves and facilitate proper documentation.
- Employee Engagement:
- Promote employee engagement through regular communication and initiatives.
- Actively participate in the employee engagement committee; assist in employee event coordination and execution.
- Training and Development:
- Ensure all employees complete initial and continual annual training on critical topics such as Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), while maintaining accurate record of all completed training sessions.
- Safety Compliance:
- Assist with administration of policies and procedures related to workplace safety to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Oversee safety committee and ensure all safety audits are completed. Maintain comprehensive records related to safety incidents, training actives, and compliance reports.
- Prepare and analyze reports for management to ensure safety goals are being met and to identify areas for improvement.
- Additionally, assist in the management and coordination of workers’ compensation claims, injury care, and return-to-work programs. Provide support in managing employee absences related to workplace injuries or illnesses.
