What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator/Quoter position at Master Machining, Inc.?
We are currently looking for an experienced estimator to add to our team. We are a small, family owned business that has been in operation for over 30 years. We strive in delivering the best product to our customers.
The right candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Preparing estimates based on material, manufacturing centers,sub-contractors, and skilled labor costs for each project
- Primary scope of work is interpretation and review of engineering diagrams (blue prints), obtaining/organizing/retaining RFQ's, cost information, and technical accuracy
- Prepare detailed task estimates, including unit cost, preform mathematical calculations by applying standard factors
- Assign material and staffing costs, document historical cost data and manufacturing methods to maintain current estimating standards.
Experience – skill set:
Know / familiar with basic order of operations for the manufacturing of machined parts: manual, CNC mill & lathe.
Ability to:
- read blue prints
- clear & accurate communication with vendors and customers
- identify and vet potential new vendors
- type & use 10 key
- organize complex projects
- adjust to changing dynamics of industry
- document and track work
Successful candidate would possess the following skills:
- detail oriented
- vestal
- self-starter / minimal supervision
- quick learner , desire to research information applicable to job
- ability to work in fast passed environment and stressful situations
-experience working with MRP / CMR systems
-experience and knowledge of MS works, email, and internet
