Job Description and Responsibilities

POSITION TITLE: Warehouse Manager (WM)

REPORTS TO: Managing Director (MD)

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Warehouse Manager (WM) is a full-time salaried position that exists to support and strengthen operations at Master Provisions (MP) in cooperation with the Managing Director (MD) to supervise daily activities in a warehouse up to 30,000sq feet at MP including cooler management, shipping and receiving activities, operating a forklift and driving a truck occasionally. The WM also serves as an ambassador for MP to maintain high morale and encourage other team members and volunteers. The WM schedule is flexible to meet the needs of the ministry. The WM ensures that all aspects of his/her job performance are consistent with MP’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Willingness to Teach and Lead Others
• Good Communications and Leadership Skills
• Supervisory Experience is Helpful
• Ability to pass and maintain a medical certification required to drive a box truck
• Ability to pass forklift licensing test
• Basic handyman skills preferred, but not required
• CDL-A license preferred, but not required
• College degree preferred, but not required

AREAS of RESPONSIBILITY

• Develop & manage an inventory control system, including cycle counting and end of year inventory process
• Responsible for movement of materials in the facility, i.e. incoming donations to the back dock
• Assist Program Manager with any special partner projects
• Direct activities in the MP Warehouse under supervision of MD
• Manage cooler operations and work well with representatives from partnering agencies
• Supervise and mentor team of warehouse management volunteers
• Assist with loading international container shipments
• Lead 5S initiatives in the facility to optimize workspace organization and efficiency, including conducting regular 5S audits to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Manage ongoing safety requirements within the facility
• Manage ongoing forklift training for team members and select volunteers
• Provide general warehouse support and able to complete tasks requiring lifting
• Organize, maintain, and manage the maintenance on the warehouse facility and property, including managing vendor contracts
• Backup operations team when team members are away from MP
• Promote a strong Christian work culture focused on collaborative partnerships
• Serve as an ambassador for MP by asking for physical and spiritual support, i.e., engagement in prayer, volunteerism, in-kind donations and financial support
• Attend MP special events as requested by MD
• Perform other duties as specified by the MD

WORK REQUIREMENTS

• Attend weekly Monday staff MPower Up meetings
• Attend all weekly Operations and Facilities meetings
• Work occasional evenings, Saturdays or Sundays as the needs of the mission dictate.
• Travel out of town occasionally as needed
• Work 40 hours per week with a workspace at MP
• Flexible scheduling with MD

WORKING CONDITIONS AFFECTING JOB

• Drive box trucks
• Potential to work evenings and weekends as needs of the mission dictate (adjusting daily work schedule to arrive later in the morning when evening work is required).
• Operate a forklift
• Perform occasional lifting and complete some physically demanding work
• Ability to work in walk-in refrigerator and freezer areas for limited periods of time
