Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, compassionate and detail oriented Medical Assistant to join our award wining healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support within a chiropractic clinic. This position requires basic computer skills, a high level of professional interaction, and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Answer telephones and schedule appointments correctly
- Greet patients warmly and rout them to appropriate rooms
- Calculate co-pays, collect money, record services and payments and balance day sheet
- Verify insurance and prepare pre-authorizations.
- Assist healthcare providers with physical therapy and examination procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling insurance documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, chiropractic, and follow-up care as directed.
- Cross train and work as a member of a team working in a small office.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a hospital, urgent care, or clinic setting is highly desirable. However, we train locally for superior service, and this is an excellent entry level position where you will receive training in software and procedures.
- We will consider a more experienced candidate with insurance pre-authorization, coding and billing training or experience.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and care.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is preferred but not required.
