Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute maintenance tasks as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
• FOLLOW plant maintenance procedures and adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule.
• Ensure equipment, tools, and spare parts are accounted for and secured when not in use.
• Participate in preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance at the facility.
• Maintain a team-oriented environment and promote productivity among fellow maintenance personnel.
• Stay up-to-date with ongoing training programs for new and existing equipment.
• Follow established plant maintenance procedures.
• E nsure efficient and reliable plant maintenance for optimized production levels.
• Utilize ingenuity to support plant equipment optimization through corrective/preventative maintenance and implementation of new products and methods.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance procedures.
• Ensure availability of materials and supplies for daily assigned maintenance tasks.
• Implement tool control and inventory program to support routine maintenance.
• Conduct all duties safely, competently, and professionally, adhering to BYF policies and guidelines, including employee hygiene and GAP procedures.

Education/Background Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical college education in electrical, plumbing, or heating preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in Industrial Maintenance and Safety.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

• Demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills commensurate with experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills in MS office products and Computerized Maintenance Management systems.
• welding and fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, Stick, and Oxy Acetylene).
• Basic blueprint reading, including mechanical, piping, instrument, and electrical diagrams.
• Basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Industrial OSHA regulations and effective safety programs.
• Valid state driver's license required.

Working Conditions:

• Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse with average temperatures around 50°F.
• Background noise approaches 70 decibels.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, and bending, as well as kneeling, squatting, and crawling.
