AI/ML Engineer - Greenfield AI Project (Mid- Staff levels)

Job Title: Mid, Senior and Lead AI/ML Engineer - Greenfield AI Project

LOCATION: Irvine, CA (onsite). Monday through Thursday onsite, Fridays remote.

COMPENSATION: $75-110 an hour.  This is a 2-year contract that will convert to full-time.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Overview: As an AI/ML Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our greenfield AI project. You will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying machine learning models, working with a cross-functional team of data scientists, engineers, and domain experts. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technology from the ground up.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Model Development:

• Collaborate with data scientists to understand project objectives and requirements.
• Design, develop, and train machine learning models using state-of-the-art techniques and libraries.

Data Preparation:

• Work with large datasets, clean, preprocess, and transform data to make it suitable for model training.
• Implement data pipelines and data augmentation techniques as needed.

Model Deployment:

• Deploy machine learning models into production environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and real-time performance.
• Implement monitoring and maintenance procedures to track model performance.

Experimentation and Optimization:

• Conduct experiments to optimize model performance and evaluate the impact of different algorithms and hyperparameters.
• Continuously improve models through iterative development and testing.

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and domain experts, to integrate AI/ML solutions into the project.

Documentation:

• Document model development processes, algorithms, and best practices.
• Share knowledge and insights with the team through documentation and presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3 years) in developing and deploying machine learning models.
• Proficiency in machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data pipeline development.
• Knowledge of model deployment technologies, containerization (e.g., Docker), and AWS.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a cross-functional team.
