JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists Supervisor in coordinating department associates in stamping department.
• Assists Supervisor and works together with Supervisor in resolving issues.
• Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Interprets company policies to staff and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets specification and job orders to department associates and assigns duties.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Analyses and resolves work problems, or assists department associates in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate department associates to achieve work goals.
• Maintains time and production records and schedules overtime as needed.
• Confers with Supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Assists Supervisor in conducting accident investigations.
• Assists Supervisor in providing orientation training for new associates.
• Communicates with quality department to ensure consistent application of quality requirements.
• Maintains high level of housekeeping as per 5S goals.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None required in this position.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability to successfully perform the job.

Education and/or experience

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalency and six months to one year related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of hand transfer and progressive stamping presses

Language Skills

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, etc.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
