Job Summary:
The Material Handler in the Shipping Department at Mate Precision Technologies receives, stores, and distributes materials, tools, equipment, and products within the establishment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support new and existing implementations of lean in stockrooms and throughout the shop floor.
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and/or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, and/or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color, or product code, placing materials in the correct predetermined bin location.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, and/or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly lines, as needed.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, and/or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department.
- Mark materials with identifying information.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Arrange stock parts in the specified sequence for assembly by other employees.
- Use a computer to enter records.
- Maintain inventory records.
- Cycle count inventory at predetermined intervals, or as needed.

- Other duties as assigned.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge and experience working in ERP systems is preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.
- The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram format is required.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to drive a forklift with company-provided training/certification.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
- Use of hand to finger.
- Frequently lift, move, push, and pull up to 30 pounds.
- Occasionally lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Noise level is moderate.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
Pay, Work Schedule, & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay Range: $17.96 - $24.16/hour
- Work Hours/Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM and Friday from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM
