Instructional Coach For Middle/High School

Job Summary:
Mater Academy Charter Middle/High is seeking a passionate and experienced Instructional Coach specializing in Reading and Language Arts to support teachers in implementing effective literacy instruction. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators to enhance instructional practices, analyze student data, and provide targeted professional development to improve student achievement in reading and language arts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instructional coaching and support to reading and language arts teachers, including modeling best practices and co-teaching.
• Analyze student performance data to drive instructional decisions and interventions.
• Develop and lead professional development sessions focused on literacy strategies, curriculum implementation, and differentiated instruction.
• Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide literacy initiatives.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to improve student outcomes in reading and writing.
• Support teachers in lesson planning, assessment development, and instructional alignment with state standards.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to teachers to enhance instructional effectiveness.
• Stay current with research-based instructional strategies and best practices in literacy education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Reading, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid Florida teaching certification in Reading, English, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience in Reading/Language Arts.
• Experience in instructional coaching, curriculum development, or teacher mentoring preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Florida literacy standards and evidence-based reading strategies.
• Experience working with middle and/or high school students preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis to inform instruction and intervention.
