The Machine Shop Manager plays a critical role in driving excellence across all aspects of the machine shop, including EHS, employee engagement, quality, productivity, cost competitiveness, and implementing best-in-class precision machine shop processes and concepts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Environmental, Health, and Safety excellence across machine shop operations.
- Establish, track, and improve key metrics aligned to precision machine shop operations.
- Implement visual management systems and standard work for tasks.
- Understand customer requirements and implement plans to close process and equipment capability gaps.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements.
- Partner with planning teams to establish and track schedule adherence.
- Develop and implement plans to achieve best-in-class performance through continuous improvement.
- Lead and develop employees.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience leading a manufacturing operations team, preferably in a precision machining operation.
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of precision machining equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
