Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the Company's automotive division. Reporting to the Accounting Office Manager, the Accounting Specialist will assist in overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Duties:
· Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
· Coordinate and consolidate financial data from multiple sources for reporting purposes.
· Analyze financial results and provide insights to management on performance trends and variances.
· Support the annual budgeting process by preparing financial models, analyzing historical data, and assisting in the development of budgetary targets.
· Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and variance analysis to track performance against budgeted goals.
· Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
· Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
· Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Participate in audits and reviews, providing support and documentation as needed.
· Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure timely implementation of required changes.
· Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
· Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
Requirements:
3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, auto industry; a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; preferred.
Strong experience with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities, with extreme attention to detail.
