JOB DESCRIPTION
Matheny Fire & Emergency is currently seeking a Lead Parts Specialist for our Ocala, FL location. The Parts Specialist is extremely familiar with heavy duty transportation products and can accurately answer questions and satisfy customer requirements.
The Parts Specialist continuously monitors inventory in order to ensure immediate parts availability, within reason, and will also handle returns. The ideal candidate has previous parts experience in light to medium commercial and personal transportation products, strong computer and internet skills, and is genuinely interested in customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage part ordering for the shop and technicians
- Ensures deliveries are promptly received and notifies internal or external customers accordingly
- Maintains parts storage area in a clean and well-organized fashion
- Provides clear and accurate information with regard to special-order parts
- Researches parts information through the Dealer Management System, Dealer Daily and Electronic Parts Catalog, or any other means necessary to obtain the solution
- Secures warranty parts, properly tags and sorts said parts, and promptly returns to source
- Maintains and enhances current knowledge base in this area of the commercial transportation industry
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Have a basic understanding of mechanics and heavy-duty chassis
- Excellent record keeping and track of multiple orders
- Able to purchase metals, wire, and fluids
- Broad scope of knowledge in commercial transportation parts and products
- Knowledge of CDK and or other ERP systems
- Team player with excellent customer service skills
- Basic math and comprehension skills
- Excellent data and record keeping skills required
- Fire & emergency knowledge preferred but not required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb if needed
- Familiarity with finding comparable parts
