General Job Summary
The Payroll Administrator processes payroll and manages all payroll related data entry, including maintaining time punches, compensation, deductions, leave administration, and timekeeping for all associates paid on a weekly basis, while ensuring strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Essential Job Functions
Process payroll in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Checks time punches for all hourly associates on a daily basis, to ensure data is being recorded correctly; makes corrections as necessary
Ensures employees’ department assignments are properly reflected in payroll
Maintains time-and-attendance and vacation-time records for all YCR associates (paid weekly)
Creates payroll record for new employees, and enters or verifies benefit info for newly eligible employees
Assists employees with payroll concerns as needed
Filing of employee documents and maintains accurate records
Scanning of employee documents during transition to HRIS system
Assists in tracking employee performance, particularly regarding attendance and punctuality
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Sort and distribute paychecks
Submits requested documentation for Workers Comp claims
Other duties as assigned
Skills/Experience/Training Required
Associate’s degree in finance or accounting preferred
Experience with payroll systems
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Working knowledge of modern office procedures, practices and equipment, including the use of computers
Ability to work well with a team
Ability to learn new skills quickly
Working Conditions
Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
Regularly use computer keyboard and mouse, requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Employee is regularly (for short periods) exposed to moving machinery and significant noise.
