Job Purpose
The Manufacturing Engineer will support internal and external customers in an electronics manufacturing facility using their technical and hands-on training and experience.
The Manufacturing Engineer will manage and develop manufacturing processes for Matric, and ensure those processes are successfully implemented in our manufacturing processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with assemblers, supervisors, and engineers to ensure successful production and testing of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies. Production areas include surface mount and through hole PCB assembly, cable assembly, and box build assembly.
- Ensure assemblies are manufactured in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with product specifications and quality system requirements.
- Support the RFQ process by estimating labor times and identifying equipment or tooling needs. Develop assembly jigs and fixtures.
- Research, specify, select and justify manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure/improve manufacturability of new and existing products. Review new products for release to production and implement Engineering Changes.
- Recommend manufacturing layouts for safe and efficient production.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with appropriate industry and quality standards/procedures.
- Monitor product in manufacturing to assure quality and conformance to requirements.
- Encourage and maintain a safe and productive working environment.
- Collaborate with all staff in accomplishment of individual, department, and corporate objectives.
Qualifications
- BS degree in an engineering field, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
- Proficiency in using computers.
