Job Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Operations to lead and oversee purchasing, inventory control, logistics and overall operations for our machine tool business in St. Paul, MN. This role requires a strategic, results-driven professional with a strong background in supply chain management, logistics, operational efficiency, and process optimization. The Director of Operations will be responsible for streamlining processes, optimizing costs, productivity improvements, and overall operational excellence while aligning with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
- Manage and coordinate operations, ensuring efficiency in procurement, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
- Work with Finance to develop and implement strong internal controls and operational policies to improve workflow and automate processes.
- Oversee and optimize end-to-end operations, ensuring seamless coordination across purchasing, logistics, and inventory.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to track operational success and drive continuous improvement.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
· Lead and mentor teams in purchasing, inventory, logistics, and operations.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Implement best practices in inventory control, including forecasting and demand planning.
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels and oversee purchasing processes
Logistics Coordination
- Oversee timely and cost-effective transportation of goods, liaising with freight carriers and suppliers.
- Oversee order processing and fulfillment to meet customer expectations on delivery timelines and accuracy.
Technology & Reporting
- Develop and monitor KPIs and generate reports to track operational performance
- Utilize ERP and inventory management systems to generate reports, track KPIs, and drive data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred 8 years of experience in operations, logistics, and inventory management
- Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
