What are the responsibilities and job description for the Music Educator - Vocal Focus position at Matt Burk Music Studio?
We are a family-owned and operated established studio with locations in Allen, Tx., Frisco, Tx., and Plano Tx. We are a place that facilitates learning and creativity in a fun, supportive environment.
We are needing to fill a voice teaching position in our Allen, Tx. studio.
We are looking for an instructor who can seamlessly integrate into our culture (warm, fun, encouraging, creative, etc.) and has experience with many styles of music. We need a teacher who is able to teach a variety of musical genres. The instructor we are looking for must be friendly, encouraging and patient. Additionally, he/she must be able to work independently, but also take direction well, and must be willing to work with a flexible team attitude.
Our teachers love working for us because:
-We are committed to building their schedules
-We offer competitive pay and 4 weeks of vacation
-All of our lessons are all done in our comfortable studio (no driving to students' houses!)
-We provide computers and teaching materials for each instructor
-We have a receptionist on staff to support the instructors
-We are a local, family-owned studio who genuinely cares about the staff, and as such, we have created a really exceptional work environment.
Most of our students are school-aged, but we have older students as well. Our students love us, because we listen to and encourage them, while making lessons fun, and giving them unique performance opportunities.
Our students enjoy a variety of performance opportunities, like Jam Sessions, Band programs, live performances at local coffee shops as well as Showcases at House of Blues Dallas, and Recitals at the McKinney Performing Arts Center.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging vocal lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
- Foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management techniques.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their vocal skills and performance.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address concerns.
- Adapt teaching methods for diverse age groups, including children and adults.
- Continuously assess and refine curriculum to ensure it meets educational standards and student interests.
Our hours of operation are 2:30 or 3 pm until 9 pm, Monday through Thursday and 2:30 or 3 pm until 7:30 pm on Fridays. Any candidate must be willing/available to teach at least 30 hours per week (during the hours listed above) as necessary.
The studio manages all of the scheduling, collections, etc. for all of our instructors. Our instructors are employees (as opposed to independent contractors), which means we take care of the employer portion of payroll taxes (our employees do not have to pay self-employment taxes like independent contractors do). We offer 4 weeks of vacation (two of which are Thanksgiving week and Christmas week) as well as a few other holidays throughout the year.
If this sounds like the perfect job for you, please send your resume (including any teaching experience you have) and cover letter by email.
