What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Accounts Receivable Administrator position at Mattex Service Company?
Mattex is looking to expand its team with a part-time Accounts Receivable Clerk (who will be cross-trained in other Accounting areas overtime), located at its Champaign office. You will contribute to the success of our accounting department by ensuring our invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner. You will also oversee the collections process and collaborate with the Call Center. You may travel to our Monticello office 1 day a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Review jobs from the prior day for accuracy.
- Find and fix any errors on invoices.
- Follow up on unpaid jobs from the prior day.
- Prepare daily deposits for check, credit card, and cash payments.
- Send monthly customer statements.
- Follow the collections process and collect on unpaid invoices.
- Maintain the accuracy of Accounts Receivable and customer accounts.
- Ensure jobs are closed and accounted for in the correct period.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Highly organized with excellent follow-through abilities and attention-to-detail (accuracy is a must).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High integrity
- Personality that blends well with a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
- Values team-work and collaborating with other departments.
- Comfortable speaking up in the spirit of making our processes better.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using QuickBooks is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry is recommended, but not required.
- Agreeable to working in the Monticello office 1 day a week, as requested.
