We are seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join a distinguished law firm in Century City. This role will provide crucial support to the Real Estate group.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Title, Survey and Zoning:
- Review title exception documents, identify issues, and collaborate with assigned attorneys.
- Prepare title review summaries and objection letters for acquisitions.
- Request and negotiate pro forma title insurance policies and UCC policies for mezzanine loans.
- Review surveys and coordinate revisions with surveyors.
- Order and review zoning reports, coordinating corrections with consultants.
- Coordinate preparation of settlement statements with title companies and clients.
Organizational Documents:
- Review organizational documents and obtain certified versions and good standing certificates.
- Prepare or review consents and resolutions.
- Obtain EIN for newly formed entities and manage organizational filings with secretaries of state.
- Coordinate entity filings and registrations across multiple states.
Loans and Purchase and Sale Transactions:
- Review transaction documents for completeness and obtain missing information from clients.
- Order and review judgment and lien searches.
- Prepare closing documents and assemble exhibits.
- Finalize documents for recording and manage closing logistics.
Closing and Post-Closing:
- Prepare signature page documents and coordinate signing parties.
- Assemble closing documents and coordinate with title companies.
- File UCC1 financing statements and manage related filings.
- Follow up on recorded documents and title policies, preparing closing binders.
Miscellaneous Due Diligence and Other:
- Update closing checklists and participate in checklist calls.
- Download loan documents and perform due diligence from client websites.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and exercise good judgment.
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
Education and Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of paralegal experience, with significant exposure to commercial real estate and/or commercial real estate lending.
- Must meet one of the California statutory paralegal classification requirements.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
