Apply today!Position Overview : The Contracts and Intellectual Property Attorney is primarily responsible for contract review and negotiation, as well as maintaining the contracts system. They will also assist the legal team on a variety of legal matters including copyright and trademark review, sweepstakes rules creation, data privacy updates and various other corporate matters.Performance requirements : Prepare, negotiate, resolve and / or review contracts and correspondence.Through a general understanding of the business, understands implications behind each contract / issue.Reviews and reacts to both explicit and implicit language in contracts; asks appropriate questions and seeks clarity where needed.Builds relationships and consensus ensuring win-win outcome.Uses exceptional oral and written communication skills to resolve disputes, clarify or answer questions.Looks for creative ways to address issues / solve problems; uses resources (internal / external) appropriately.Documents presented for signature are thoroughly reviewed.Manages contract database to ensure completeness and timeliness of contract lifecycle.Copyright and trademark review for merchandise and marketing teams : Learns legal process and best practices for intellectual property reviews / searches.Understands business risk and advises based on company standards.Provides organized and timely responses.As needed, serves as a general legal resource for other departments (as directed by VP-General Counsel) : Collaborates well with individuals at all levels; builds strong external resources; offers solid counsel / advice.Researches all angles of an issue before attempting to solve the problem.Work Experience and Education Requirements : Education : Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school; must be licensed to practice law in at least one US state or applicable jurisdiction.Experience : Three years relevant corporate legal experience.Three years contract experience required.Agiloft or other contract database experience preferred.Skills / Traits / Personal Characteristics : Must be skilled in building cross-functional, cross-division and external partnerships.Strong detail orientation.Outstanding written and verbal skills.Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.The compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
