What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Maverc Technologies?
As a Staff Accountant at you will become an integral part of the accounting team while being responsible for all accounts payable functions, including recording AP invoices, among other responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare required journal entries and maintain accurate financial records
- Responsible for processing semi-monthly payroll, 401k payments, etc.
- Responsible for exporting, importing timesheets, reconciling and posting timesheets.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and government regulations.
- Responsible for reconciling and recording monthly credit card entries
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Assist with month end closing
- Prepares and posts cash management entries
- Reconcile and post expense reports
- Maintain purchase order/credit card authorization database
- Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations
- Support various audits throughout the year
- Perform other accounting and financial tasks as required
- Regular interface with personnel from all areas of the company
- Preparation of monthly unbilled analysis reconciliation
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
- 5 years accounting work experience in a government contracting environment
- Minimum 4 years working experience with the ERP system Deltek Costpoint
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
- In- depth knowledge of interpreting government contracts and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
This position is hybrid with the onsite location in Columbia, Maryland.
