Summary

Maverick is seeking an Equipment Operator (“Operator”) to play a vital role in our construction division by operating and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of various types of equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, cranes, skid-steers, and more. Their expertise is crucial in completing projects on time while adhering to strict safety guidelines. Operators perform a range of tasks, including operating heavy machinery based on project requirements, conducting routine maintenance and inspections, and addressing minor repairs. In addition to operating equipment, they handle material loading, unloading, and transportation within worksites, ensuring that materials are securely handled and placed correctly.

Responsibilities

Equipment Operation : Safely and skillfully operate a range of smaller heavy equipment such as mini-excavators, bulldozers, graders, skid steers, or other specialized machinery based on the specific job requirements.

Equipment Maintenance : Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on assigned equipment to ensure optimal functionality and longevity. Ensure equipment is cleaned after shift.

Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies while operating machinery. Identify potential hazards and take appropriate action to minimize risks.

Project Support : Collaborate with construction crews, supervisors, or project managers to execute project plans effectively. Follow instructions as assigned by management, communicate progress, and adapt to changing.

Material Handling : Operate equipment to load, unload, and transport materials, supplies, or heavy objects to designated locations within the site or facility. Ensure secure and proper handling of materials to prevent damage or accidents.

Equipment Efficiency : Optimize equipment utilization by monitoring fuel consumption, operating speeds, and overall efficiency. Implement best practices to reduce downtime and maximize productivity.

Skills & Abilities

Physical stamina and dexterity to withstand long hours of equipment operation.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

Valid class D driver's license and clean driving record required. CDL-A or CDL-B is strongly desired.

Certification or training in equipment operation (i.e., Hoisting License) is preferred.

1 years proven experience in operating various types of heavy machinery or equipment.

Solid understanding of equipment safety protocols and practices (CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10).

Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, plans, and technical drawings.

Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol and background check requirements.
