Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to direct reports, including, but not limited to, hiring, training and development
• Develop and/or improve policies, procedures, and systems required to accurately record and report financial transactions
• Assist leadership team in troubleshooting financial system issues
• Review and analyzes statutory and business unit financial statements
• Draft MD&A, footnotes, and board reporting
• Review and monitors the periodic reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Facilitate the close of each period by working with other department managers
• Conduct audits of systems, controls, and procedures as needed
• Review and improves complex account reconciliations
• Plan, communicates, implements and trains on new accounting pronouncements
• Additional responsibilities as assigned
  
  

Qualifications: Education

• Master’s degree in Accounting or related field required
• CPA required
  
  

Qualification: Experience

• 7 years of accounting, finance, and/or audit experience
• 2 years of public accounting preferred
• 1 years of leadership experience
• Exposure to SEC reporting, accounting research, and footnotes preferred
• Mix of public accounting/private industry preferred

• Efficient & effective Project Management skills
• Extremely knowledgeable in MS Office, including exceptional Excel skills and experience with a variety of financial accounting systems
• Leverages others appropriately & overcomes unexpected obstacles during execution while utilizing appropriate metrics to measure progress
• Demonstrates strong written & verbal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $125k-$140k DOE Bonus Opportunity

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik/Kum&Go considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
