Our client, headquartered in Newton County, GA, is seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in electrical design, electrical systems, and troubleshooting, with basic PLC’s understanding.
A crucial requirement for this role is a deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards. This knowledge allows the electrical engineer to properly size wires, breakers, and motors based on specific load demands. Considerations such as ampacity, voltage, ambient temperature, motor horsepower, and relevant safety factors outlined in the codes must be taken into account to ensure correct circuit design and protection against overcurrent conditions.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Experience with R&D and NPD projects.
- Accurately design Electrical Schematics for custom HVAC equipment.
- Create Ladder Logic Electrical designs in CAD.
- Apply NEC & UL requirements to electrical designs.
- Design electrical systems and specify components within systems, including Motors , Circuit breakers, Contactors, Relays, VFD's, Controllers; etc.
- Present selected systems components in Excel BOM to the Purchasing Department for procurement.
- Involvement with writing procedures and production standards.
- Capturing continuous improvement needs and creating action plans.
- Assist field service & customers with technical questions & engineering support.
- Travel to customer's site as required (5%).
- Work with a fast-growing cross functional engineering team.
