POSITION SUMMARY
The A/R Specialist is responsible for expediting the proper adjudication of insurance claims. This involves researching and rebilling unpaid claims, providing necessary documentation and working with companies and patients to obtain payment. This role requires undivided attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Follows up on outstanding A/R with a variety payers, including self-pay accounts

Researches and rebills unpaid claims in a timely manner

Manages correspondence related to insurance or patient accounts

Contacts insurance carriers, patients or other facilities as needed to ensure maximum payment on claims

Researches and resolves accounts appearing on follow-up and aging reports

Works EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits and rejection reports

Presents data to appropriate parties and partners with necessary resources to develop resolution

Answers inbound patient calls and provides assistance to callers based on their inquiry

Participates in trainings / meetings with payers and internal departments to address trends in denials or unprocessed claims
Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind the work assignments of this position as business needs warrant.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience / Abilities:

Minimum of 2 years A/R follow up experience

Ability to work in a team environment

Willingness to maintain confidential information
