Max Aerostructures is seeking an Assembly Mechanic to join our growing team in Wichita. We will train those who do not have the skill set outlined below.
Applicants must demonstrate they have the ambition, strong work ethic, knowledge, and technical aptitude to perform a variety of assembly functions according to detailed specifications and meet strict quality requirements. Applicants must be familiar with the following:
- Power Feed Drilling
- Air gauge, Hole Micrometers .
- Close Tolerance hole drilling, reaming, hone. (step up process)
- Close tolerance fasteners (Hy-locks)
- Use of liquid nitrogen during pin and interference fit bolt installations
- Manual and mechanical swaging of bearings
- Bushing installation
- Cap Sealing
- Rework and or repair of complex assemblies
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in aircraft/aerospace manufacturing assembly – experience with complicated and varied assemblies preferred
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, specifications, and other work instructions
- High level of experience with various assembly processes
- Experience with application of sealants, primers, paints, cleaning agents, hand and power tools used in assembly processes
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have strong work ethic, drive to achieve high levels of performance and can demonstrate a detail-oriented nature and on-time attendance dependability.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat and walk on a regular basis.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Must wear gloves, eyes & ear protection and adhere to safety procedures at all times.
- Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
