Our full time server assistants make an estimated $45 - $60K, annually
POSITION PURPOSE:
Ensure our guests have an unsurpassed dining experience – breakfast, lunch and dinner, by using menu and service knowledge. Assist and serve the guest in a professional and courteous manner. It is the mission of the server assistant to make each guest’s visit a memorable one.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
¨ Serves and creates a warm, fun atmosphere for guests and employees.
¨ Answers questions regarding food and beverage items and their preparation, ingredients, and accompanying items.
¨ Greets newly seated guests in a friendly and timely manner (30) seconds after being seated).
¨ Follows alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests.
¨ Checks back after delivery of food to ensure guest satisfaction.
¨ Observes guests to respond to any additional needs.
¨ Maintains table appearance by pre-bussing, checks drink levels, removes clutter, and provides adequate napkins, etc.
¨ Gives a warm farewell and invites guest to return.
¨ Keeps station clean, sets up and takes down station tables appropriately.
¨ Attends shift meetings according to shift schedule.
¨ Applies company’s alcoholic beverage policies.
¨ Applies company’s sanitation procedures.
¨ Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
¨ Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness.
¨ At all times provide a favorable image of MAX at Mirabeau to promote its aims and objectives and foster and enhance public recognition and acceptance of all of its areas of endeavor.
¨ Works as a team player by assisting other employees with duties as necessary or when shift becomes unexpectedly busy:
a. Host/Hostess: Helps greet and seat guests, pulls out chairs and answers telephone.
b. Bussers: Pre-busses table throughout guest’s dining experience, assists in bussing tables so guest can be seated promptly, restocks buss stands with appropriate supplies.
c. Bartenders: Helps deliver food orders for guests at the bar and assists with “To Go” orders, restocks glassware in the service bar area.
d. Expediters/Kitchen: Runs food when expediting is complete, helps expediter keep station clean and restocked, assists host/hostess in alerting kitchen of large parties or sudden rush of entering guests, rings checks accurately, assists dishwasher by properly separating glassware, china, silverware and trash at the buss stand and dish stand.
e. Other Servers: Helps deliver food and drinks to guests in all areas of the restaurant, assists with keeping buss stands free of dirty dishware and glassware.
¨ Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Qualification Standards
¨ Able to arrive for scheduled shift, on time, in uniform and ready to start work
¨ Passionate sense of urgency - fast!
¨ Neatly dressed, well-groomed in clean standard uniform at all times.
¨ Stands/walks during entire shift (8-10 hours)
¨ Reaches, bends, stoops, and wipes.
¨ Able to deliver plates and food and clean tables which may require lifting as much as 30 pounds.
¨ Able to read menu items to sight-impaired guests.
¨ Able to hear guest’s requests and needs in the midst of loud background noise.
¨ Able to verbalize menu items clearly to guest while taking their orders or responding to their requests.
¨ Able to obtain a Washington State Food Handler and Alcohol Server’s permits.
¨ Able to learn and use Maitre ‘d/POS to place orders.
¨ Able to accurately make cash or credit card transactions and balance at the end of the shift.
¨ Able to effectively check the identification of all guests who appear under the age of 30.
