Max Fish, located in the heart of Glastonbury, CT, is searching for a passionate and adaptable full-time Pastry Assistant to join our team for approximately 35 hours/weekly. If you have a love for pastry, creativity, and working in a high-energy, fine-dining environment, we want to hear from you! Weekend availability is required as were looking for a team member who can contribute at least one day during the weekend.

The ideal candidate will assist the Pastry Chef in crafting house-made desserts, specialty desserts for private events, and seasonal creations that align with the restaurants vision. Experience in a fine-dining kitchen is a plus, and prior work in a salad bar or raw fish station is especially advantageous, as adaptability in various kitchen roles is a key component of this position.

Responsibilities:
Assist the Pastry Chef in creating high-quality desserts, including house-made and specialty desserts for private events
Support the team in other kitchen duties as required, including occasionally working the salad bar or shucking at the raw fish station
Collaborate with the team to update and experiment with the dessert menu, adding new items and seasonal selections
Ensure all food preparation follows food safety and quality standards
Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and a passion for pastry
What We're Looking For:
Prior experience in a fine-dining kitchen, with a focus on pastry, is preferred
Experience in a salad bar or raw fish station is a PLUS
Weekend availability and flexibility to work at least one day during the weekend is A MUST
Strong adaptability and a positive attitude toward working in various kitchen roles
Creativity and an eagerness to contribute new ideas to the pastry program
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
High attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
Commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience for guests
