Maxiaids is a leading supplier of products designed to assist Senior Citizens, those who are Vision Impaired or Blind, those who are Hearing Impaired or Deaf, as well as those who have various Medical, and Mobility challenges. The customers we serve are not only the end users of our products, but they are also the dedicated Professionals and the Agencies who provide important services and rehabilitation services.
The position of IT Administrator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day IT operations of the company, including providing administrative and technical support to our users ensuring the smooth functioning of IT services across the organization. In this role, you will have to manage requests, track IT tasks, and ensure efficient communication and resolution of technical issues. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong organizational skills, and can manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide both hardware and software support to end users by acting on appropriate requests.
- Create and make changes to user Domain accounts, as well as login accounts for all software applications, while assigning the appropriate access rights
- Coordinate the setup of IT equipment, network and application accounts, and software for new employees, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
- Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot any potential performance/security related issues relating to network hardware (switches, SonicWALL firewall, etc.), printers and PCs
- Manage Avaya VOIP telephone system, and Call Reporting as well as applicable phone and voicemail management software.
- Ability to implement and troubleshoot DHCP, DNS, wired and wireless networks in order to maintain optimal security, and performance.
- Create ad-hoc Order, Inventory and Sales reports for management as needed in Crystal Reports or by use of SQL scripting.
- Document IT procedures, policies, and best practices, ensuring up-to-date resources are available to management and end-users.
- Coordinate with vendors for IT services and equipment, and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Maintain and update records of IT equipment, software licenses, and assets, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Ensure that PCs/Servers are kept up to date with latest operating system patches and anti-virus protection software & definitions.
- Enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures, proactively identifying and mitigating threats.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of MS Networking, including Active Directory and the creation of user and computer accounts, and configuring and troubleshooting DNS and DHCP issues.
- Must be adept at Windows PC hardware and software setup & configuration.
- Familiarity with Unitrends backup appliance and software, for local and cloud backups, as well as Sophos Endpoint Protection antivirus software a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems/applications MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel), MS Desktop and Server OS, Active Directory, MS SQL Server.
- Ability to write and modifying Crystal Reports, and the ability to write and modify MS SQL scripts.
- Experience with Order Processing, and Warehouse shipping solution software.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and strong communication skills – Spelling, grammar, and the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Microsoft Certifications, and other IT certifications are a plus.
Education and/or Experience:
- Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting and maintaining a variety of hardware, software & networking technologies
