IT Manager/Administrator
Vanderbilt Financial Group is hiring an IT Manager to join our innovative, fast-paced team. In this role, you will oversee and guide our technology initiatives, specifically focusing on cloud-based solutions (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Azure Active Directory). You will ensure our systems remain secure, reliable, and up-to-date, all while supporting our LEED Platinum headquarters in Woodbury, NY, as well as remote offices across the United States.
As a leader within our organization, you will manage the IT Support team—supervising daily workflows, scheduling tasks, and monitoring performance. Our ideal candidate is passionate about how technology can drive positive impact. Banking or financial services experience will be a major advantage.
Responsibilities
User Support & Customer Service
- Provide frontline technical assistance to financial advisors, staff, management, and clients.
- Coordinate with team members to promptly troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Organize and deliver technology training or orientation sessions for new employees.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise the IT Support team: assign tasks, create schedules, and set priorities.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize team efficiency.
Vendor & Asset Management
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely procurement of quality products and services.
- Oversee inventory of software licenses and hardware assets, maintaining accurate records for budgeting and auditing purposes.
IT Operations & Reporting
- Oversee phone and ticketing system administration, ensuring issues are resolved within established SLAs.
- Generate and review monthly performance reports for management, recommending improvements based on data analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Systems Administration
- Administer and troubleshoot PC & Mac workstations, servers, tablets, Canon devices, and VOIP phone systems.
- Lead and manage Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Azure Active Directory to support collaboration and productivity.
- Enforce cybersecurity policies and procedures, proactively identifying and mitigating threats.
Network & Infrastructure
- Maintain and optimize copiers, scanners, phone systems, and other IT endpoints.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Ubiquiti) for secure, high-performing networks.
- Set up and manage VPN solutions for remote employees, ensuring secure connections.
- Implement VLAN, DHCP, NAT, and wireless networks to maintain optimal security, performance, and scalability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, usage, and connectivity to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Strong user-support and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong communication skills – Spelling, grammar, and the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Detail-oriented, with proven ability to challenge and identify opportunities within existing processes and practices.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate roadblocks and assist with issue escalations.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Business Premium, SharePoint, Azure Active Directory, or similar cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, server management, and cloud backup solutions.
- Microsoft Certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, Microsoft 365 Certified) and/or CompTIA Certifications (A , Network , Security ) strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with PC/Mac hardware and remote-control support systems.
- Banking or financial services experience (e.g., compliance/regulatory knowledge, front/back office processing) is highly desirable.
- Experience in workflow automation, data integration, or advanced technologies like AI/ML is a plus.
