Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Drain Cleaning Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and clearing blockages in residential and commercial plumbing systems. You’ll use specialized equipment to address issues like clogged drains, sewer backups, and perform light plumbing repairs when needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of plumbing systems, sewer lines, and drain maintenance, with an ability to provide timely and effective solutions to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and clear blockages in drains, pipes, and sewer lines.
- Operate and maintain drain cleaning equipment such as high-pressure water jets, augers, and cameras.
- Perform routine drain cleaning services, including kitchen, bathroom, and utility room drains.
- Clear clogs caused by grease, debris, tree roots, and other blockages.
- Address issues with sewage systems, including backups, slow drains, and leaks.
- Provide light plumbing repairs as needed, such as replacing pipes, fixing leaks, and minor installations.
- Utilize diagnostic tools to identify and resolve drainage issues, including camera inspections and pipe locators.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Communicate with customers to explain issues, offer solutions, and provide estimates for additional services when required.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on jobs.
- Respond to emergency calls for drain and sewage issues promptly and efficiently.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in drain cleaning, plumbing, or a related field.
- Ability to operate plumbing tools and equipment, such as drain snakes, high-pressure water jetters, and pipe cameras.
- Knowledge of sewer systems, drain lines, and related plumbing components.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic plumbing knowledge, including the ability to perform light repairs and installations.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, and under varying conditions (weather, indoors/outdoors).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
- Certification in plumbing or drain cleaning.
- Experience with hydro-jetting or advanced diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations related to plumbing.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working in tight, dark, or confined spaces.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor and indoor environments, depending on job location.
- May involve exposure to unpleasant odors and hazardous materials.
- Emergency response may require after-hours availability.

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
