Senior Director of Operations

Maximus Partners is working with an international manufacturing company in hiring a Senior Director of Operations Management. In this high-level leadership role, the Senior Director will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire operations process, from production and supply chain management to quality control and employee safety. This position is crucial in driving the company's operational strategy, performance, and profitability.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategic Planning:

• Develop and execute the overall manufacturing strategy to align with company goals.
• Supervise the daily manufacturing operations, making sure they run efficiently and meet production and budget targets.
• Lead a team of operations managers covering the quality control, supply chain, production and engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with other senior leaders in the company to ensure alignment of operations with corporate objectives.

Operational Excellence:

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of manufacturing operations.
• Identify areas for process improvement, implement lean manufacturing principles, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and quality.

Supply Chain and Inventory Management:

• Direct supply chain functions (strategic sourcing, planning, purchasing, inventory, shipping, receiving) through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Develop supply chain strategy to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost.
• Plan, manage, and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
• Manage inventory to optimize cash flow while ensuring adequate quantities to support execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other external partners to negotiate favorable terms and ensure supply chain efficiency.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

• Manage the manufacturing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and managing expenses without compromising quality.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining or improving production quality.

Quality Control:

• Ensure the manufacturing process adheres to strict quality standards and compliance regulations.
• Implement systems and practices to ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer expectations.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure that manufacturing facilities comply with all safety regulations and industry standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, operations management, business administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and operations.
• Process Improvement: Proven track record of improving quality and operational efficiency.
• Leadership and Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate large teams.
• Certifications: Lean Six Sigma certification or similar certifications in operational excellence are beneficial.
