The Top Man position plays a crucial role in assisting with utility-related construction projects, ensuring the proper installation of water mains, sanitary sewer lines, and other infrastructure components. This position will also support various general construction tasks, such as site preparation, excavation, and safety procedures. Attention to detail, knowledge of utility systems, and commitment to safety will contribute to the success of this position.
- Utility Component Support: Collaborate with the project team to construct the utility component of a project, encompassing water main and sanitary sewer line collection systems, site grading, road construction, drainage, dewatering, and any other essential improvements required for the project.
- General Construction Assistance: Assist in various construction tasks, including but not limited to shoveling, staking, plan reading, laser setup, proper pipe installment, understanding grades and slopes, excavation and trench safety, confined space safety, drainage improvements, dewatering, and maintaining a clean and organized job site.
- Safety Oversight: Serve as the eyes on the ground for safety while construction machines are in operation. Identify and report potential safety hazards, ensuring that all safety protocols are adhered to, and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Operation of Hand and Power Tools: Safely and effectively operate a range of hand and power tools used in construction, ensuring that tools are maintained in good working condition.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
