Student Support Specialist - Maxwell Unified

About the Position:
The School Social Services Coordinator at Maxwell Unified works under the supervision of the Community School Director. This role involves collaborating with students, families, teachers, principals, community resources, and district employees to provide social services. The coordinator will develop and implement interventions to promote positive school outcomes and foster a supportive learning environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Build strong relationships with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to address barriers to academic success.
• Design and implement evidence-based interventions to promote student well-being.
• Provide individual and group counseling services to students and their families.
• Maintain accurate records and facilitate effective communication among team members.

Required Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:

• A Master's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
• A valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential is necessary for this position.
• Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LMFT, LPCC) is required.

Desired Experience:

• A minimum of two years of experience in K-12 Social Work, preferably in a school setting.
• Previous experience working with at-risk youth is beneficial.

Desired Skills:

• Bilingual skills in English/Spanish are desired but not mandatory.
• A valid California driver's license is required.
