Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team at Maxwood Furniture. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling of CDL truck drivers to pick up and deliver containers from the port to their respective destinations in a timely and efficient manner.

Main Responsibilities:

• Coordinate scheduling of CDL truck drivers
• Plan and optimize routes for drivers to ensure timely arrivals and avoid delays
• Maintain constant communication with drivers to provide updates, resolve issues, and monitor their progress during pickups and deliveries
• Track and monitor the location and status of containers to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is provided to both the drivers and other stakeholders
• Work with other members of leadership to ensure that all drivers adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including hours of service (HOS), safety standards, and port-specific requirements
• Maintain accurate records of all scheduled pickups, deliveries, driver logs, and any discrepancies or issues that arise

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related certifications preferred
• Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation coordination, preferably with port container pickup experience
• Strong knowledge of the transportation industry, particularly in port and intermodal operations
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact with drivers, coworkers, and port personnel effectively
• Proficiency with dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
