Transportation Scheduling Expert

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Container Dispatch Manager to join our team at Maxwood Furniture. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling of CDL truck drivers to pick up and deliver containers from the port to their respective destinations in a timely and efficient manner.

Main Responsibilities:

• Coordinate scheduling of CDL truck drivers
• Plan and optimize routes for drivers to ensure timely arrivals and avoid delays
• Maintain constant communication with drivers to provide updates, resolve issues, and monitor their progress during pickups and deliveries
• Track and monitor the location and status of containers to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is provided to both the drivers and other stakeholders

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or related certifications preferred
• Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation coordination, preferably with port container pickup experience
• Strong knowledge of the transportation industry, particularly in port and intermodal operations
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact with drivers, coworkers, and port personnel effectively
• Proficiency with dispatch software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
