Job Summary:
The Bucher Apple Press and Pasteurizer Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of Bucher brand apple pressing and pasteurizing equipment. This role includes overseeing the entire juice extraction and pasteurization process, ensuring high product quality, and performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation:
· Operate Bucher apple press and pasteurizer systems following established procedures.
· Set up and adjust equipment parameters to optimize juice extraction and pasteurization processes.
· Process Monitoring:
· Monitor the production process, including temperature, pressure, and flow rates, to ensure compliance with quality standards.
· Inspect the quality of apple juice or cider, ensuring consistency in taste, clarity, and other product characteristics.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
· Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn components.
· Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment malfunctions or issues, coordinating with maintenance personnel as necessary.
Quality Control:
· Ensure that all products meet quality and safety standards, including adherence to hygiene and sanitation protocols.
· Conduct regular quality checks and document production data accurately for quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
Safety Compliance:
· Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
· Report any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment issues to the supervisor immediately.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Maintain detailed records of production metrics, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.
· Prepare and submit reports on production statistics, downtime, and maintenance issues as required.
Collaboration:
· Work effectively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient production operations.
· Provide guidance and training to less experienced operators or new staff members as needed.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical or vocational training preferred.
· Proven experience operating Bucher apple presses and pasteurizers or similar industrial equipment.
· Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
· Knowledge of food safety standards and quality control processes.
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
· Capability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks.
· Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to heat and cold.
