Mayfield Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time experienced Activities Director to join our team
As the Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating activities for our residents. Your goal is to provide each resident with an appropriate activities care plan to meet his or her mental, spiritual and psychosocial needs, while ensuring that all experiences are executed with a high degree of resident safety. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience, Activities Director Certified, be a team player, friendly, compassionate, outgoing, and enjoy working with older adults.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop strong relationships with patients, residents, and their families
- Promote resident socialization, growth, and development by creating plans and implementing activities that are conducive to the current residents’ desires and emotional and spiritual needs, in consideration of their physical and mental abilities
- Assess each resident’s background with regard to former profession, level of education, hobbies, favorite daily activities, etc., in order to develop a plan for appropriate activities to offer resident.
- Develop an activity program based upon the identified interests, while also complying with all Federal and State regulations for activities
- Develop, plan, and provide individual activities for residents who choose not to participate or are unable to participate in group activities
- Work enthusiastically to enhance our residents’ quality of life by addressing their social, physical, and mental health
- Assist with the development of the activities budget, oversees expenses
- Complete and oversee the purchase of supplies for the programming
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Activity Director.
- Prior experience as an Activities Director, preferably in a long-term care facility, preferred
- Have passion, dedication, and commitment for providing residents with an engaging, enlivening, and captivating living environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Interpersonal skills to communicate with residents, family members and staff
- Must show compassion and genuinely care for the elderly and those requiring long-term care
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, personal computers, scanners, digital copiers and printers
