Inventory/Material Control Floater
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Dependent on merit and productivity: $18.00 – $21.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, with overtime available.
Maynard Incorporated in Fayetteville, AR, is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to support our dynamic manufacturing operations. Our Material Control team plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, traceability, and proper handling of materials, directly contributing to the efficiency and success of our company. Responsibilities include receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, verifying counts and documentation, and ensuring proper storage and organization of inventory. The role also involves preparing and packaging outbound shipments, coordinating with carriers, arranging deliveries and pickups, and maintaining accurate shipping and receiving records. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, possess strong attention to detail, and demonstrate a sense of urgency to meet production and customer demands. Ideal candidates should have experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory control, along with proficiency in basic computer and math skills. The ability to operate forklifts and material-handling equipment is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and transport materials efficiently between departments to maintain workflow.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by tracking and documenting materials movement.
- Follow customer specifications, requirements, and instructions for material handling.
- Utilize measuring instruments accurately and repeatably to verify material dimensions.
- Maintain proper documentation, including logbooks, routings, and other necessary records.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
- Assist in identifying and preventing Foreign Object Debris (FOD) issues.
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and contribute to good housekeeping practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material control processes.
- Prepare and package outbound shipments, coordinating with carriers and arranging deliveries and pickups.
- Address shipment or inventory discrepancies and resolve issues with urgency.
Knowledge and Qualifications Required:
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments with precision and consistency.
- Effective problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of inventory control methods and material handling best practices is a plus but not required—training will be provided on the job (OJT).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and basic computer skills are advantageous.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation for inventory and shipments.
- Ability to properly protect, store, and allocate products while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to lift and transport materials and inventory as needed (50lbs ).
- Willingness to collaborate in a team-oriented environment and follow written instructions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of deliveries and inventory-related activities.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work performed indoors with temperature/humidity variations depending on the season.
- Extended periods of standing and occasional bending/stooping required.
- Exposure to industrial environments and potential contact with hazardous materials—PPE provided by the company.
