Maynard Nexsen is seeking qualified candidates for a Recruiting and Events Intern position located in Birmingham, Alabama.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist Recruiting Coordinator with coordination of the Summer Clerkship Program, which includes assisting in managing the clerk project database, coordinating on-site and off-site events, and communication with speakers for events. The role requires assistance with planning and attendance at various social events.
- Assist Recruiting Coordinator with coordination of pre-law program, which is a four-week program in the summer for undergraduate college students considering law school or students entering law school the following fall. The program entails planning events, including luncheons with guest speakers, and assigning work projects. This program run simultaneously with the summer associate program.
- Assist Recruiting Coordinator with communications and review of agreements with vendors.
- Assist with law student recruitment and hiring.
- Prepare correspondence, maintaining files and other similar duties.
- Assist with other Firm special projects as requested, including support for the Chief Talent Officer and some marketing administrative work.
- Assist in preparation for Recruiting Committee meetings.
- A general knowledge of a business and/or law firm environment.
- Strong writing skills are required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and an overall comfort using internet-based technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- The ability to maintain confidential and handle sensitive information.
- Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Analytical ability to gather and summarize reports, find solutions, problem solve and prioritize work.
