The Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for performing age-specific assessment designed to gather data relevant to the patient's individual needs. This includes assessment and evaluation of speech, language, cognitive/communication disorders and swallowing dysfunction. The SLP develops a plan of care, performs treatment as indicated, assesses patients' response to treatment, and assists with discharge planning. The SLP utilizes equipment, materials, and devises and/or adapts treatment strategies to maximize a patient's swallow function and/or communication potential. The SLP provides education related to the diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care of the communication disorder to the patient, family/caregiver and other members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications
Masters degree in Communication Disorders, Speech Pathology, or equivalent. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech/Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Will consider CFY candidate. Valid Speech/Language Pathology license in the state of Wisconsin. Current CPR certification. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech/Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Valid Speech/Language Pathology license in the state of Wisconsin. Current CPR certification.

Schedule Details
Will participate in weekend and holiday on-call rotation. Ability to provide occasional weekday coverage on La Crosse (and maybe Sparta) campus will be given special consideration. Weekday schedule can be 7-4:30 or 8-5:30 with flexibility.
Weekend Schedule
Weekend on-call rotation is approximately every 3-4 weeks from 8-12 on Saturday and Sunday with call-back pay if called in. This is for inpatient unit only.
