Spartanburg School District Two Literacy Interventionist
Purpose: To positively impact student achievement at assigned sites through support and mentoring, which builds school and teacher capacity to increase classroom achievement.
Responsibilities:
- Confer with teachers regarding strategies, grouping for instruction, lesson planning, interventions, etc.
- Work with individual and small groups of students
- Conduct monthly professional development sessions on the ELA and Math CCSS and Best Practices at the school level
- Analyze student work to determine progress towards goals and next steps
- Facilitate other forms of professional development as needed (book studies, guest speakers, etc.)
- Organize and analyze school data to identify trends and needs (Data walls)
Required Qualifications:
- Effective problem solver
- Evidence of at least three years of successful classroom teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of literacy instruction
- Effective communication skills
- Evidence of planning and organizational skills
- Ability to structure own time and manage multiple priorities
- Strong knowledge of effective instructional strategies
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Willingness to lead/participate in District Professional Development opportunities

- Valid Educator Certificate in Elementary or Early Childhood
