Job Summary:
The Vice President of Clinical Business Development is responsible for leading strategic initiatives to drive growth in home health and hospice services. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with healthcare providers, hospitals, and key referral sources while overseeing the development and execution of business strategies. The VP plays a pivotal role in expanding market share, identifying partnership opportunities, and ensuring seamless integration of clinical services with healthcare organizations. The VP of Clinical Business Development reports to the CEO and collaborates closely with the CSO and Sales Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Development & Growth:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to expand home health and hospice market share.
- Hire, develop and maintain a culture of accountability with top level talent in hospitals to assist hospitals and serve patients and our communities.
- Work closely with both Chief Executive Officer and Chief Growth officer to develop and execute key strategies for growth.
- Identify, establish, and maintain preferred partnerships, ACO relationships, and narrow network opportunities with hospitals and health systems.
- Create and drive opportunities for C-Suite collaboration with hospitals and health systems.
- Oversee the development of electronic referral integration and other innovative referral solutions.
- Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and referral patterns to develop targeted business initiatives.
Referral Management & Relationship Building:
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with hospital executives, discharge planners, physicians, and other key referral sources.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure optimal referral management and conversion.
- Oversee strategies to enhance referral partnerships and streamline patient transitions to home health and hospice care.
- Engage with physician groups and senior care communities to strengthen referral networks.
Clinical & Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure business development initiatives align with home health and hospice regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with clinical leadership to maintain compliance with state, federal, and industry regulations.
- Develop training programs to educate referral sources on eligibility, compliance, and best practices in home health and hospice care.
Community Outreach & Brand Awareness:
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, healthcare summits, and networking events.
- Develop and oversee community outreach programs that enhance brand recognition and patient access to services.
- Lead marketing and public relations initiatives to support business development strategies.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, nursing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Prefer RN with a minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare business development, preferably in home health or hospice.
- Strong background in sales, marketing, or relationship management within the healthcare industry.
- Experience developing and managing high-level healthcare partnerships and negotiations.
Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of home health and hospice regulations, reimbursement models, and industry trends.
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth and build long-term strategic relationships.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement business strategies.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Frequent travel to hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, physician offices, and healthcare conferences.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for networking and events.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and move frequently in various healthcare settings.
