SUMMARY OF CLASSIFICATION:
This description summarizes the requirements of a level II Material Handling employee. Employee must demonstrate at least one year of safe lift truck. Must possess complete product knowledge to assure material is stored in proper locations and in an orderly fashion. Employee must possess skills to operate home department equipment, including ERP system and other computer programs at the operator level. Employee must demonstrate utilization of idle time for clean-up, combining loads/shop releases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A high school diploma or the equivalency is preferred. Requires 1-3 years of experience.
Must possess a valid lift truck driver’s license within a month of placement in the position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 50 lbs. Employees also frequently bend, twist, and reach and may stand and/or walk up to 8 hours per day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs routine and complex departmental material handling duties.
- Operate power lift trucks, hand trucks and overhead cranes, if applicable, to transport materials, machines parts, and products as directed.
- Move loads in compliance with safe practices.
- Maintain uninterrupted flow of piece parts to department and/or work cell.
- Assure material is stored in proper locations and in an orderly fashion. M
- ay work from routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, blueprints, visual aids, or other instructions to anticipate production requirements.
- Inspect and promptly report any damaged racks, stackers, equipment, materials, etc. to supervisor.
- Utilize idle time for clean-up, combining loads/shop releases, and performing production operations in areas of assigned responsibility.
- Assemble and check orders, do packing and crating, attach shipping instructions.
- Use weighing and counting scales as required.
- Receive all incoming materials, supplies, equipment and returned goods.
- Receive returned material and route to specified areas for salvage, rework or scrap as directed. Check received goods against purchase orders or receiving papers. Check quantity, type, size, part numbers of dimensions, etc. to properly identify materials.
- Route or deliver materials to storage or manufacturing locations.
- Maintain records and prepare receiving and shipping reports
- Perform Cycle counts regularly.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems with computer literacy.
- Maintain power equipment by performing basic services check daily and report malfunctions to supervisor.
- Other duties may be assigned.
