Description
Accountability : As a Spindle Repair Supervisor you will be tasked with rebuilding high-quality machine tool spindles for customers in the manufacturing industry. You will be leading a team of highly skilled spindle repair technicians and leads within a state-of-the-art facility. With a fluid line of communication throughout the company, you are set up to lead from the front and set a standard for your team.
Scope and Responsibilities :
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following :
- Oversee the assembly and repair of machine tool spindles
- Supervise and assist spindle repair technicians in diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems of machine tool spindles
- Ensure that each job is properly disassembled, and that clear and concise reports are written for each job
- Maintain ISO calibration standards for testing equipment
- Ensure that the work environment is clean and safe
- Create and maintain a schedule of jobs to be assembled and disassembled
- Provide training and mentoring for spindle repair technicians to improve their skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with the Parts expeditor, Spindle department leadman, and Spindle department manager on customer jobs
- Ensure that each spindle leaving the department meets quality standards and is complete
- Maintain document monitoring to ensure that all necessary documents are completed accurately and on time
- Implement and improve quality improvement systems to increase efficiency and reduce errors
- Create and maintain a department budget
- Evaluate team members performance and conduct reviews
- Resolve conflicts and address concerns or complaints from team members
- Communicate regularly with team members to keep them informed about departmental goals, priorities, and expectations
- Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
