Fiber Technician

Job Overview: We are seeking motivated and experienced Fiber Technicians for new underground installations in single-family, multi-family, and multi-dwelling units. Responsibilities:

• Plan and Prepare Underground Routes: Identify and map existing underground infrastructure, ensuring avoidance of other utilities (water, gas, electricity).
• Fiber Optic Cable Installation: Install and pull fiber optic cables through underground conduits, ensuring proper placement and alignment according to project specifications.
• Splicing: Perform fusion splicing to ensure high-quality fiber connections.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: Use power meters and other testing equipment to verify installation quality and resolve any issues.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of installations, including splice locations and test results for future reference.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, especially in confined spaces and around other utilities. Follow all company protocols and standards.

Qualifications:

• Technical Skills: Experience using hand tools and handheld mobile devices.
• Skills: Effective communication and outstanding customer service.
• Abilities: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills.
• Travel: Daily travel required; must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Schedule: Flexibility to work various schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements:

• A neat and professional appearance.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Must own a white truck, van, or SUV is a plus, but not required.
• Willingness to undergo a background check and drug test.
• Ability to maintain a required tool list.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift
