What You Do
What You Do
Responsible for the strategic development, implementation and ongoing execution of corporate accounting, finance, and cost management functions to ensure MTM is cost competitive and compliant with all applicable US GAAP principles and internal SOX control requirements.
As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also :
Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
Work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota
Proactively engage and support company level strategic decision making from a financial viewpoint
Develop strong working relationships with members of Toyota Motor North America Accounting and Finance team that will be providing certain shared services and other support
Lead team in achievement of action plans surrounding mid-term business plan and annual budgeting, annual contract manufacturing fee setting, quarterly forecasts, monthly shop cost management activities, month-end close, internal and external reporting, and key targets
Manage cross-functional and cross-company projects focusing on cost improvement activities and attainment of unit cost and functional targets
Lead and supervise Assistant Manager who has responsibility for cost management area which includes cost accounting, cost planning and shop management reporting
Identify and develop contingency plans around missed targets and internal control gap mitigation
Lead budget development, forecasts, unit and functional cost targets and improvement plans in coordination with other MTM areas and corporate
Manage the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle regarding budget and improvement containment
Performs other related duties as assigned by the department
Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)
What You Bring
High School Diploma or GED
2 years’ supervisory experience in an equivalent role or internal demonstrated experience
Project management experience
Experience with root cause analysis / problem solving and Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
What Will Set You Apart
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Experience in a managerial role, with an emphasis in budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting and financial reporting Experience and knowledge of accounting regulations
5 years’ supervisory experience in Accounting / Finance, preferably in automotive manufacturing
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
